Golden Pints

1) Best UK Draught (Cask Or Keg) Beer: Good grief, difficult indeed. India Pale Ale Scanners Brodie’s/Kernel Collaboration really blew me away. Runners up: RockStar (DarkStar/Magic Rock collaboration (both keg and cask were absolutely delicious and I simply want more of this beer), Sour Grapes (Lovibonds), such a wonderfully balanced sour beer. Jeff’s a wizard. [...]

Golden pints 2011

I’ve left it until the last minute to do these, mainly because I couldn’t make my mind up. Best UK Draught (Cask or Keg) Beer Hawkshead NZ Pale Ale – Truly delicious and stupidly drinkable. Second place goes to Summer Wine Nettle and Ginger Saison and Third goes to Hill Island ThaIPA. Best UK Bottled or [...]

Golden Pints 2010 My awards go to….

Posted on December 29, 2010 by andyMogg in Beer Stuff, Golden Pints 6 Comments

It’s been a brilliant year for all things beer related so this has been really hard choosing, some of them may change over the next couple of days too as I’ve got some special bottles lined up and I know a couple of local pubs are getting some great beer in too. Best UK Draught [...]

The Golden Pints – My awards go to..

Posted on December 16, 2009 by andyMogg in Beer Festivals & Events, Golden Pints, Saints & Sinners Brewing Co 4 Comments

Last week together with Mark’s Dredge (from pencil and spoon) and Fletcher (from real ale reviews) we launched the Golden Pint Awards (not the new jazzy logo thanks to robsterowski) so I thought it was about time I filled in the categories my self, It’s taken me ages to decide on some of the categories [...]

The Golden Pints: Beer Blogger Awards 2009

Posted on December 11, 2009 by andyMogg in Beer Festivals & Events, Beer News, Golden Pints No Comments

The year is almost over and there becomes an inevitable point in which we take a look over our shoulders and evaluate how the past 12 months has been, before looking forward to the next. As Beer Swap rolls on (there’s no hurry, just drink and be happy), Mark’s Dredge (from pencil and spoon) and [...]

Marquee hire

Beer has been one of the oldest drinks we know and comes with so many different tastes and types unlike any other beverage, you can drink a beer with your friends or alone. When you organise a party it is important that you choose the right beers to be served for your guests, as it can set a mood but sometimes when you can go all out you can serve a variety of beers in kegs but it might be handy to have a marquee. There are several companies that specialize in Marquee hire, this sets the mood and everyone can enjoy their glass of beer in a great atmosphere. Bottoms up!
