Brewdog Bashah Reserve Imperial and Tayberry reserve 2009 (Open it day 3)

Posted on May 8, 2011 by andyMogg in Beer Reviews, BrewDog, Open It 2 Comments

When Brewdog and Stone released Bashah way back in 2009 I was a big fan It was a genuinely interesting beer, so when they announced they were releasing two reserve versions which had fruit added I knew I had to have them. It came in two forms Bashah 2009 Highland Park and Black Raspberry Reserve and Bashah [...]

De Dolle Oerbier and BRORA 30 Year Old 2009 Release (Open It Day 2)

Posted on May 1, 2011 by andyMogg in Beer Reviews, De Dolle, Open It 3 Comments

For Open It day 2 had had planned on drinking more than just one bottle of beer but an impromptu trip out to a lovely sunny Whitby and a tour of a few of it’s fine drinking establishments didn’t leave me with much time or much space in my considerably large beer belly. Not wanting to miss [...]

Open it!

Posted on April 14, 2011 by andyMogg in Open It 4 Comments

Grab your diaries and put a big red circle around the Royal Wedding weekend (29 April – 2 May) and inside that circle scribble the words ‘Open It!’ because it’s time to go into the dusty depths of the beer cellar and open something good just for the sake and fun of opening something good. [...]

Open It night one was a success, I just opened the one bottle, the rather stunning Brewdog Abstrakt AB:04, Night two had a lot to live up to. We went up to @davelozman ‘s where he’d pulled a few special bottles from his stash and cooked a huge chunk of lamb stuffed with haggis, It [...]

Open It! This weekend

Posted on December 2, 2010 by andyMogg in Open It 1 Comment

It’s almost time to Open It! This weekend, 3-5 December, is when we can get those special bottles and open them just for the sake of opening them. Mark and I have also managed to arrange for lots of people to be snowed in so you have an even better excuse to drink a beer [...]

Open It! Reminder

Dust off those special bottles because Open It! is coming very soon… Friday 3 December to Sunday 5 December, get the good bottles out of the cupboard and get them open. Don’t hold back thinking that a worthy special occasion will come along soon, that you might get a new job next week, a promotion [...]

Marquee hire

Beer has been one of the oldest drinks we know and comes with so many different tastes and types unlike any other beverage, you can drink a beer with your friends or alone. When you organise a party it is important that you choose the right beers to be served for your guests, as it can set a mood but sometimes when you can go all out you can serve a variety of beers in kegs but it might be handy to have a marquee. There are several companies that specialize in Marquee hire, this sets the mood and everyone can enjoy their glass of beer in a great atmosphere. Bottoms up!
