Twissup Does Toon: The Details

For those of you who missed it the next Twissup is in Newcastle on the 12th  November 2011.

I’ve tried to put together a bit of a plan with the help of Jeff, Mick from the Free Trade, Toonbeerchris and Andrew from Bacchus so here’s a rough outline of the day…things are bound to change and as with all the twissups you can do what you want…it’s not a school trip ;op

The people I’ve spoken to are very excited about showing off what the Toon has to offer, there will be some very special and very exciting beers on so there should be plenty for everyone.

11:30-13:00: Meet in Bacchus, enjoy some beers.

13:00 Jump on the bus to Tyne Bank Brewery for a tour and some more beers before heading to the Free Trade Inn for more beers and possibly a Meet the Brewer.

Sometime later, depending on how everyone feels….visit the Tyne Bar, then head back into the City Centre for food and more beers, I’m sure the plan will be formalised a bit more later on as there are plenty of pubs to visit.

If people are still around on Sunday there are plenty of pubs and a couple of beer shops to visit.

We’ve put together a map of pubs which you can view by clicking here (thanks to Jeff and Steve for their input on this)

If you are looking for some cheap accommodation then check out the Euro Hostel, if anyone knows anywhere else to stay then please leave the details in the comments section below

Finally if you are coming along please complete the form below so we can get a rough idea of numbers. (if you cant see the form then click here)

Can’t make it in 2001 as my TARDIS is out of order at the moment.

I thought I’d booked premier inn @£29 but I hadn’t, now price has gone up. :(

Booked into another hotel by the airport and twin room was same price as single; so if anyone is looking for somewhere to stay they’d be welcome to share!

A good choice for price and proximity to the last bar on the #twissup (The Free Trade Inn) is the brand new Gateshead Jury’s Inn.
You can actually see the Free Trade across the river from the Jurys Inn.
As at 26th October, Booking.com are showing standard double and triple rooms for £89 on the 12th Nov.
The hotel is right on the river side, and a short walk across the Gateshead millennium bridge over to the Newcastle side.
The Q1 and Q2 bus service will take you door to door on your travels.

Having never been to one of these before do you need tickets or do you just turn up and join the drinking

    Cheers

Marquee hire

Beer has been one of the oldest drinks we know and comes with so many different tastes and types unlike any other beverage, you can drink a beer with your friends or alone. When you organise a party it is important that you choose the right beers to be served for your guests, as it can set a mood but sometimes when you can go all out you can serve a variety of beers in kegs but it might be handy to have a marquee. There are several companies that specialize in Marquee hire, this sets the mood and everyone can enjoy their glass of beer in a great atmosphere. Bottoms up!
