Twissup is in….

The votes have been counted, re counted and double checked and I am please to announce that the next Twissup is in Newcastle on 12th November 2011.

The voting for the host city was quite close with Newcastle 5 votes ahead of Edinburgh and then Norwich a little way behind. The 12th November romped home with 49% of the votes so for those of you coming from down south remember to bring your winter clothes!!!

There are some fab pubs and breweries in and around Newcastle so details of a plan are being formed and will be announced very soon.

If you are aiming to book tickets for trains etc then we usually kick off around 11:30 to 12 noon but you can join us at any time through the day.

If anyone has any suggestions of things they specifically want from Twissup in Toon then leave a comment below! We will do a roll call closer to the time so we can get a rough idea on numbers.

In the meantime have a look at Newcastle Real Ale for a list of some of the beers currently available in Newcastle and a look at my ramblings on a visit to the Toon a few months ago.

F******ck … just checked train tickets, and an open return Bham-Newcastle is £92.70 !!! I’ve got flights to Edinburgh for less in the past! There don’t seem to be any cheap advance fares either (two cheapest singles at reasonable times still comes to £60) … hmm might just have to sit this one out for a bit and see if any cheaper fares become available, otherwise it’s just not good economic sense to come :-(
Am I just very backward in being shocked that this is the standard price of trains these days?

Folks getting the train please use EastCoast.co.uk they don’t charge booking fees.
    Also compare prices using http://www.redspottedhanky.com/

Think I’m gonna have to miss this one for the same reason. Just too damn pricey to get up there and too close to an expensive holiday.

Marquee hire

Beer has been one of the oldest drinks we know and comes with so many different tastes and types unlike any other beverage, you can drink a beer with your friends or alone. When you organise a party it is important that you choose the right beers to be served for your guests, as it can set a mood but sometimes when you can go all out you can serve a variety of beers in kegs but it might be handy to have a marquee. There are several companies that specialize in Marquee hire, this sets the mood and everyone can enjoy their glass of beer in a great atmosphere. Bottoms up!
