Adnams Mosaic

I’m a big fan of Adnams they are certainly in my favourite breweries, they do some really cracking beers, like the recent Fat Sprat and the always excellent Innovation, what’s more they are really consistent so you know that when you buy their beer it will be the same as the last time you bought it,  my current favourite is canned Ghostship so when they dropped me a line to ask if i’d like to try their latest beer, Mosaic, I didn’t have to think twice.

Mosaic is part of their Jack Brand range, It contains pale malt and a little lager malt then is hopped at 4 different stages using Mosaic hops. It’s availble in bottle, cask and mini cask from adnams.co.uk

It arrived on a Friday morning and I know the instuctions on the side of the mini cask said to vent and leave for 24 hours, but I couldnt wait. I vented it and stuck it somewhere cool ready to be supped that night. The first 1/2 was as expected a little yeast due to me not letting it settle, but after that every pint that came out was spot on.

Aroma wise it was packed with tropical fruit and fresh flowers which didn’t seem to fade even towards the end of the cask, there was plenty of body, nice and silky in the mouth wiht moderate carbonation, There was plenty of flavour to go with the body, almost giving the impression of a slightly higher ABV beer. Definitely a beer to be enjoyed fresh so that the mandarin, pine, lemon and a bit of Mango (according to the wife)

A superb beer and one to look out for, would be perfect for BBQ’s or a curry night.

Agree with all your comments. Excellent beer. Tried it from the cask at the recent Suddaby’s festival at Malton, and for me and a couple of others, was the beer of the festival by a long way.

Now available in 500 ml bottles in selected Marks & Spencers outlets as part of their single hop range of beers

All Adnams beers are superb, but Mosaic is an amazing brew, which is popular in Southwold, and has a growing following among locals and visitors alike. Since I moved to Suffolk 6 months ago, I have been spoilt for choice. Herbalist was lovely, as was another single hop beer, Jester, although it`s a little strong to be a session beer. I would love to try a cask version of their Blackshore Stout.
