I saw Lucy post this on Facebook yesterday so thought I’d share it with those of you who may not have seen it.

#Scoopathon: remembering Simon H Johnson

When Simon left us earlier this year, you only had to look at Twitter to see what an impact he made on so many people, and to get a sense of how sorely he is missed.

Now, it may surprise people to know that Simon had accumulated a decent collection of bottled beers and books at home, so what better way to remember a great man than to pass his collection on to people who can enjoy it, and raise some more money for the British Heart Foundation in the process?

Here’s how it works

All of Simon’s beer and books have been packaged into around 60 lots, with each bottle of beer being paired with at least one book. There’s some great stuff in there … and some comedy entries for good measure. Rumours that some of the beers included were made from distilled otters’ tears could not be confirmed at the time of going to press.

Each £10 donation gives you the chance to take home a memory of Scoop, so a £50 donation gives you 5 chances!

We will be drawing the prize-winning tickets at the Furnace Inn (@TheFurnaceInn), Derby, on Sunday 24th November at 4pm. We’d love as many people as possible to come and join us, but don’t worry if you can’t – your memory will be posted to you courtesy of the good folks in the beer industry (UK only).

So, please dig deep folks. Cheers!

To donate all you need to do is click here to be taken to JustGiving

Keep an eye on Twitter and our hashtag #scoopathon for a sneak preview of some of the prizes that are up for grabs
