Your top 10 beers (Friday Frivolity)

  • Your top 10 beers (Friday Frivolity)

I thought i would start a bit of Friday frivolity on the Beer Blog website today and ask people for their top 10 beers of all time, i know it’s been done before but i thought it would be a nice easy introduction to what will hopefully become  a regular bit of fun on the blog.

Getting down to 10 beers is pretty difficult, i know i have missed loads that i love but I’ll start off with these and they are in no particular order:

  1. Mikkeller Stateside IPA
  2. Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast
  3. Gadss No.3
  4. Flying Dog Classic Pale Ale
  5. Thornbridge Halcyon
  6. Thornbridge Bracia Stout
  7. Brewdog Punk IPA
  8. Saltaire Coffee Porter/Stout
  9. Hambleton Stallion
  10. Dark Horse Hetton Pale Ale

I honestly found that really tough, i mean, I’ve left out beers from Cropton, Jennings, Wychwood, Theakstons, Copper Dragon to name but a few. I also know that some of the beers on the list could have been affected by the timing and location of where they were drunk, it will no doubt have changed in the next few weeks as i swap them over in my head and i get through some of the beers in my cupboard but I think it’s a pretty good list.

Yet another list from the Brew Dog and Thornbridge Appreciation Society. I’m beginning to think my fellow bloggers have all been bribed. Or brainwashed. Or both!

Ouch!! Could it just be that they make beers that are getting people talking??

I must add all the beers above were paid for with my hard earned cash so, unfortunately no bribery was involved. Brainwashing could be a possiblilty but I wouldn’t remember that..

    What are your top 10?

I haven’t had many of these beers (Bar punk IPA), I will try some of them ASAP though. We do also try to apply a silver lining on most beers, like rudgate ruby mild, but you can trust if I say some thing is hoppy as hell, it is hoppy it is hoppy as hell!

The topical stuff, like this post by AndyMogg, is all opinion though and you should try them all your self :o)

If I was goning to make a top breweries list I would defintatly include Maisell’s, St Austells, Caledonian, Mordue, Rodenbach and Floris.

Cheers for all comments as always
