My final dish at Sharps Connoisseur Cook off

A couple of weeks ago I received an email asking if I was available to take part in the Sharp’s connoisseur choice cook off final, apparently the recipe I’d submitted on Sharp’s Facebook pagehad been chosen by 2 michelin star chef Nathan Outlaw to represent him in the final. It seemed like far too good of an [...]

Posted on April 28, 2011 by andyMogg in Food and Recipes No Comments

This recipe was part of the winning menu on Masterchef, and is taken straight from the BBC website here, Hope Tim doesn’t mind as I’ve been a bit cheeky and jumped on the bandwagon but these burgers looked amazing and they have beer and chilli in the recipe what more could you want? Big Congratulations [...]

Richard Fox’s Beer Mashed Potato

Posted on March 1, 2011 by andyMogg in Beer Gifts & Gadgets, Beer Stuff, Food and Recipes No Comments

A couple of days ago I spotted Richard Fox’s Beer and Food book going cheap so decided to order it and see what it was like. I’ve only had a quick flick through so there will be  a proper review of it soon, but in the meantime I decided to make his beer mashed potatoes [...]

Coconut and Punk IPA Prawns

Posted on February 13, 2011 by andyMogg in BrewDog, Food and Recipes 1 Comment

Last night @davelozman and his mrs came for tea, It’s always a great night and we usually sup some fantastic beer so I took a bit of a risk and tried to incorporate some beer into the first course. I’ve made beer batter before but only ever for big chunks of fish and I usually [...]

Beer and Chilli Battered Fish n Chips

Posted on December 13, 2010 by andyMogg in Food and Recipes 3 Comments

This is my favourite recipe for beer battered fish n chips, it’s totally up to you which beer you use but I find the fizzier, yeastier ones give a better texture to the batter, the trick is to have the beer really cold too. I like to fry my fish then let it stand while [...]

Beef in Titanic Stout

Posted on November 2, 2010 by andyMogg in Food and Recipes, Titanic Brewery 5 Comments

Now that the nights have drawn in and the weather has got cooler, I start to fancy darker, richer food as a result the slow cooker gets more of a hammering that usual. My beer tastes also start to change, I move onto the more autumnal, darker fruity beers such as stouts and porters, that’s [...]

Marquee hire

Beer has been one of the oldest drinks we know and comes with so many different tastes and types unlike any other beverage, you can drink a beer with your friends or alone. When you organise a party it is important that you choose the right beers to be served for your guests, as it can set a mood but sometimes when you can go all out you can serve a variety of beers in kegs but it might be handy to have a marquee. There are several companies that specialize in Marquee hire, this sets the mood and everyone can enjoy their glass of beer in a great atmosphere. Bottoms up!
